St. Michael's offers a program for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Children enter their classrooms to find new and exciting learning experiences inviting them to play! Teachers intentionally set up the classrooms with materials that encourage children to dive in as soon as they walk in the room. Teachers take special care to offer and display materials in a way that provokes new thinking from the children and leaves them eager to engage.
With an image of the child as a wholly capable and creative human, we offer the atelier as a space to honor children's creative drives and expression of self. All of the experiences are designed to promote experimentation, stimulate the senses, and create knowledge.
At St. Michael’s, our students spend a large portion of their day outside. We value the experiences that only nature can offer to young children. Whether they are engrossed in new discoveries in our outdoor classroom, hiking our nature trails, or building an obstacle course in our nature playground, children can be observed exploring the outdoors in every season.
Our music program utilizes a curriculum based on developmental best practices, which help children establish a lifelong love of music. Each week, children explore rhythm, rhyme, repetition, finger play, and body movements while discovering new instruments and their many functions and sounds.
We are delighted to offer guided tours of St. Michael's Episcopal Day School to provide you with an insight into our educational environment and philosophy. Our tours typically last between 30 to 45 minutes and are available between 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM. To ensure your visit is informative and enjoyable, we kindly request that you arrive a few minutes early.
